Hi Everyone!
I am a Linux newbie. I have been running Ubuntu for a few months. After looking at a few other distributions, I decided to try LMDE. It ran well in the Virtual Box so I did a full install this weekend. So far I like it a lot.
I am looking forward to learning more about Linux and to meeting some new friends on this forum.
I am a James Bond fan so my user name is based on the villain in "The Man with the Golden Gun".

Hello scaramanga9, and welcome to the Mint community. I'm an LMDE user myself, since the day it was released a couple of weeks ago. Also a big James Bond fan. I know I've seen all the movies well over 10x each. Also read all the books 44 years ago during high school. I know you're going to like LMDE. It's well put together by our expert devs, and managed by the Linux Mint creator himself. Have fun.

scaramanga9,
Welcome to the Mint community. I hope you enjoy it here. If you drive south on 65, holler as you pass by.

Hi, scaramanga9. Apologies for not seeing this topic before now. I'm not sure where you're located, I'm in Lafayette.
When it comes down to it, I am pretty much a Linux newbie myself. I've been using it for 2-3 years, but I never really took the time to learn much about it. Then I discovered Mint and there's no real great need to learn much of anything, as it just works. I ran Mint9 with great success until LMDE was released and I've decided to run it with as much success. But I really am going to have to start learning a bit more about how things work, because they all work so well. I hope your experiences with Mint will be as good as my own.
@tdockery - You've just become one of my best pals, as I've finally found someone around here older than myself. Not by much, doing the math, but by a couple years at least. You are going to keep me inspired to learn more, now that I know I have someone in my age bracket around.
