MINT is a breath of fresh air

Postby Statham on Mon Jan 17, 2011 2:42 pm

Hello All,

I am new to Mint, and I can categorically say "I LOVE IT".

I used to use Linux about 10 years ago now and decided to switch back after being fed up with windows slowing down and not being that exciting.

I tried LMDE first, which was great and very fast but unfortunately was too low in fat. For instance I have FakeRAID (Software Raid) set on my motherboard, but LMDE could not recognise it was there, because DMRAID is not in the Live DVD by default. However as I have two SSDs I persisted with it.

After a couple of weeks I started to get twitchy that all my space wasn’t being used evenly so moved to MINT 10, which has DMRAID by default.

I love how out of the box MINT is and I like the menus. The only trouble with the menus is that when using WINE the shortcuts are setup wrong. However I have a solution to thanks to this forum.

Keep up the fantastic work Devs and thank you for bringing back my enthusiasm.
