An introduction is in order

I'm Amontgomery, I live in the Southern US.

My experience with Linux is limited, I have been playing with Ubuntu and Mint for probably 2 years, but haven't really gotten serious about it until just recently when I had a Windows 7 machine fail. I had enough and decided it was time for a change.

I upgraded to an SSD and installed Mint10. All I have to say is wow. Every aspect is better (I can attribute a good deal of that to the SSD but the OS is much less of a problem than it has been on Windows machines I have used in the past).

I enjoy breaking things down and figuring out how they work, so in this regard Linux is perfect. I have been meaning to learn a programming language anyway, and now I have a great resource with which to do so.

My other interests are mechanical things (cars, bikes-human-powered kind, guns), philosophy, history, anime (big into Gundam).

I am a student in my last semester of University getting a BA in History with a minor in Philosophy. I hope to write and teach for a career.

I hope to get to know you all and I hope that one-day I can provide help to others in these matters as I am receiving from those here now.
