Impressed

Hi Folks,
I'm a computer scientist from Germany, currently living in Houston, TX.
I've been using Linux since those early, painful times. I remember my first Linux was an early Suse. I then became a Debian fan.
Recently, I had to use Fedora because that's what they were using at work. Initially, I liked it, but after while I was just fed up. Now I changed my employer, and am free to use whatever I like. On distrowatch, I stumbled upon Linux Mint. So I got the 64bit Julia.
After the usual pain in the butt (kernel panic and the like) with the nouveau drivers, I am impressed. Never before did I set up a Linux system in such a short time. With that I refer to the installation and to the customization. And only once before (like a decade ago, Enlightenment 0.16) I enjoyed the looks of my desktop that much. I am very satisfied, could set up each and every program that I need, and all just works fine. And it looks so cool. I love it.
I hope this is a lasting experience...
I'm gonna make a donation now
Thanks guys!
