Hi Everyone,

This is Narendra from India. Am new to Linux Mint having installed it (Linux Mint LMDE) a couple of months back. I am using LMDE (64 bit) on a 64 bit desktop machine with a AMD Athlon X2 processor. I waited for the 64 bit version to be launched.

I have been using Linux for over 5 years though I am only yet comfortable with the desktop and not so much with the command line. I have used quite a few distros like OpenSUSE, Ubuntu, Puppy, Austrumi, Slitaz, AntiX, Archbang etc. In spite of that i am still a noob and wary of the command line. Was posting and replying noob Q's on Ubuntuforums as well for a while.

Hope to learn and contribute on this forum.

Hello narendra.d and welcome to the forum, I hope you enjoy LMDE. I hope also that as an LMDE user you have subscribed to this thread:

http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=67502

it is the most important source of information that LMDE users have about the multitude of updates that accompany this distro, and although it isn't being properly administered at the moment (because it is being left to one user instead of being the responsibility of the whole LMDE team) it is still a vital source of info. Always check it before you update your system unless you are very confident of being able to fix your own problems.

On another topic entirely, congratulations on beating Australia today (or are you the only person in India that doesn't like cricket?) :D
