Love Linux Mint 12. Very new at Linux, but am glad to be away from "Windows".

First is the terminal itself. Open a terminal, enter
And check out the basics of terminal manual pages. Whenever someone refers to a terminal command that you are unfamiliar with, use the man pages to check it out.
