Hello Mint World

Hello everyone. I have been using Linux since the 90's but just recently started playing with Linux Mint. I have a few things that have impressed me off the bat. The first was I installed a USB KWorld TV Stick which other distros hated, and it worked. I also installed my Alesis multimix8 mixer which in the past only liked Windows and it worked. I am using the cinnamon GUI and loving it. I still use OpenSuse on some machines but completely axed all my Ubuntu machines in favor Linux Mint.

I just recently bought an Alesis Multimix 8 USB FX mixer. How can i check if it'll work? Is there some kind of tests i should try? I just switched from Crunchbang to Mint 12.
