Hi folks, been tinkering with pc for years. Im a refugee from unity, couldn't get my head round the new interface. Very happy with mint lxde on a couple an old p4 + nvidia desktop and an old Sony (vista) laptop. Learnt plenty from guesting on forums, but encountered a problem I couldn't fix- so had to sign up!
Alien arena runs ok on mint lxde 11, but not on lxde12, I even compiled it from source.

Welcome to the Mint Forums, jerryferry123. I'm not much into gaming, so can't really help with that question. You may want to make a separate post under the software questions section of the forums. Someone is bound to come across it that can give you some advice.

Hi jerryferry123, welcome to the Linux Mint forums :D Thanks for joining the forums and I hope you continue to enjoy Linux Mint LXDE! As tdockery says, probably best to make a new topic on your Alien Arena problem in the Software & Applications section of the forum. You may also try the Alien Arena's forum: http://corent.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general Be sure to include any errors you get when you start the game from a terminal, by running:
Code: Select all
alien-arena

Be sure also to check out the Community website (ideas, tutorials, and hardware and software reviews). You can also chat in real-time with other Linux Mint users. In the Mint Menu, in the Internet section, start the application XChat IRC. You will automatically get connected to #linuxmint-chat for general chat and #linuxmint-help for support with other Linux Mint users
