Greetings:
I am a newbie so please be patient.
I was preparing to load Netflix Desk top using instructions I found on http://pristinesource.blogspot.com/2013/03/netflix-for-linux-httpwww.html. One instruction said to enable this repo: http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/ testing/main.
After I added it to Synaptic I refreshed Synaptic and got this error message:
E: Malformed line 5 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse)
E: The list of sources could not be read.
Go to the repository dialog to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.
Now I keep getting this error each time I try to open Synaptic. What do I do?
Thank you.
Felix

Re: Repo Error in Synaptic
That "instruction" contains a typo (there should be a space between testing and main, not a slash) and a questionable advice (adding Ubuntu PPAs to Debian).felix672 wrote:One instruction said to enable this repo: http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/ testing/main
Anyway, to clarify things, please post the output of this command:
Code: Select all
inxi -Sr

Here's the output.

Re: Repo Error in Synaptic
Seems alright. Does Synaptic still say something?
Re: Repo Error in Synaptic
I think we need to see the content of /etc/apt/sources.list. please run 'cat /etc/apt/sources.list' and give us the result.
