Re: UPDATE PACK 3 FEEDBACK THREAD

I made the changes in the apt sources list now looks this way:

Code: Select all
deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian main upstream import
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest testing main contrib non-free
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/security testing/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/multimedia testing main non-free
deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free main

But when i try to update via update manager this message appear:

Code: Select all
Ignoring file 'getdeb.list.save' in directory '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extensionIgnoring file 'google-chrome.list.save' in directory '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extensionIgnoring file 'google-talkplugin.list.save' in directory '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extensionIgnoring file 'opera.list.save' in directory '/etc/apt/sources.list.d/' as it has an invalid filename extensionRelease file for http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/dists/testing/InRelease is expired (invalid since 22d 22h 56min. 15seg.). Updates for this repository will not be applied.

So i tried via terminal whit this:

Code: Select all
sudo aptitude update && aptitude safe-upgrade && aptitude clean && aptitude autoclean

And the terminal answerd like this:

Code: Select all
Ign http://dl.google.com stable InRelease
Ign http://dl.google.com stable InRelease
Obj http://debian.linuxmint.com testing InRelease
Des:1 http://debian.linuxmint.com testing/updates InRelease [39,2 kB]
Des:2 http://dl.google.com stable Release.gpg [198 B]
E: Release file for http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/dists/testing/InRelease is expired (invalid since 22d 23h 9min. 22seg.). Updates for this repository will not be applied.

What shoul i do? I can't update any more.... HELP!!!!

I can help with the .save problem:
Code: Select all
sudo rm -f /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*.save

I vaguely remember a mention of the other problem, will have a search.

Tks xircon, that helped.

But the problem keeps going.

The update manager now says:

Code: Select all
Release file for http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/dists/testing/InRelease is expired (invalid since 22d 23h 17min. 3seg.). Updates for this repository will not be applied.

no salsalha, you only have one, that you just show us, and it's pointing to incoming;
when you did the changes to point to latest, did you save the doc in gedit before you close it?

split topic from UPDATE PACK 3 FEEDBACK THREAD
note to salsalha: fell free to change the subject.

about the issue you are having, i'm in a dead end, you changed successfully the repos to latest, that error allows you to update or not? they are just translation files, so shouldn't really make a big difference.

I am grateful for the help, apparently, the system was updated, with the exception of translation packages, which I hope will not bring difficulties in the future.

For some reason, the root terminal, do not save changes to the list of sources. And what puzzled me most was that with the cat command, they gave me, the modification appeared to "latest".

But as I noted, the errors showed that the sources were in "incoming"

I went directly as an administrator to the appropriate folder and modify the source. So it worked.

Anyway thanks very much for your help guys.

those errors with the translation, i assume are not to worry about, anyway if after you do a full
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
your last imput is something like this
Code: Select all
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

no worries, you are good to go

Whit that line, the last line showed is:

Code: Select all
E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

So i really dont known if the system is already update. However, when the cursor is in the update manager, pops up a message saying that the system is updated, so i assume that is it... or not?

Greetings :D
