UP6 as Christmas present from the Mint dev team ?sobrus wrote:As far as I know UP6 will be released no later than 2 months from now. Together with new ISO images.
I'm really looking forward for UP6, I've decided that I will reinstall fresh from ISO but now with Cinnamon.
But like the thread's topic says: we need more testers. More people who can use a separate hard disk to check if UP6 on "incoming" works fine on the hardware. Check if all favorite software works fine (and that you can find it in the repos). Check if CPU and MEM load is correct. The more people test it with different situations, the more stable the update pack will be.
And another thing: there will be a few more APT mirrors to download from. But despite by checks on the possible available unlisted mirrors, there a "few" to "no" mirrors in the USA. USA is by far where LMDE is the most used, and it just happens that the only available server there is the official one (debian.linuxmint.com). It's already overloaded, constantly. So dear sysadmins from the USA: please, open up a repository mirror in your homeland Gonna write a quick-and-easy setup guide to help less experienced sysadmins to achieve this right.
