Hi
On my wifes asus netbook the battery went dead while the computer was in sleep mode. Now she cant log in. After the password is put in after a few seconds a window with the text "could not update ICEauthority file /home/lise/.ICEauthority" and the only option is the button Log Out. what to do? the computer is running LMDE updated to pack 4

1. At the login screen, press Ctrl+Alt+F1 to get to the console.

2. Log in there.

3. Check if ".ICEauthority" is owned by you:

ls -al .ICEauthority
4. If it isn't (but possibly by root), change it to you:

sudo chown lise:lise .ICEauthority
5. Switch back to the login screen by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F7 or F8

6. Try again to log in.

It lookes like lise is the owner, the ls command gives -rw-------1 lise 22212 May 16 09:34 .ICEauthority.
Tried to run the chown command but still stops at the same window.
