Unetbootin install, can't login (unknown username)

Postby jazzist on Wed May 23, 2012 1:16 pm

Hi,

Just installed lmde on my samsung nc10 via a usb key that i created from the 32bit iso using unetbootin.

Problem is that the os has installed ok and boots but i am presented with a login screen.

I was not given the opportunity to choose usernames and passwords during the installation so don't know what to do now.

Anyone know?

Thanks.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Got it, it had automagically picked up the username and password from the Ubuntu machine I created the key with using unetbootin :D ... unless I'm going mad and the installer did ask.

Also, mentioned in the Known Problems, from the release notes, mentioned in two places (in case anyone missed it);

Login and password for the live session

The Live session should log you in automatically. If it doesn’t, or if you need to login manually (for instance, to try out Cinnamon), you can use the following credentials:

For the username, type “mint”
For the password, if asked, just press Enter.
