keyboard layout options

I am at a loss as to what choice to make in the LMDE Install for a keyboard lay out for a HP Pavilion g series.
and would like to ask, what would be a good choice to begin with. generic 101 ?.

I have searched the network and that is difficult to find answers.
HP specs show this puppy as 'full size' for whatever that means.
And the LMDE programmers give choice options for:
generic 101
generic102
generic103
generic 105 (intel)

and a few other HP mpdels that do not match this model series.

You can look in /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/base.xml for a list of models.
