[SOLVED] Boot font change

Postby naughty_bit on Sun Sep 09, 2012 1:43 pm

How to change font of boot terminal output?

console-setup can do it but it changes it halfway through, I'd like to have it from beginning.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Try this
Code: Select all
sudo dpkg-reconfigure console-setup

On the third screen, select
Code: Select all
Do not change the boot/keyboard

This prevents the boot font from changing midway.

Hi, thanks for answering.

I'm sorry, I might have not been clear enough.
I have already done change of fonts manually through

Code: Select all
/etc/default/console-setup

but what I would like is to have the fonts changed for the whole boot process, from the very beginning and am asking for solution to that.

Thanks again.

Well, seems this is the answer:

http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=70296&p=394278&hilit=boot+font#p394278

Anmys, thanks again for the tip, much quicker and cleaner solution than editing the conf file. It actually offered TerminusBold and transition is acceptable.
