So yah ok, I just burned linuxmint to a 4.8 gig cd (or is it dvd) and deleted my other linux partitions, I dual-boot so this didnt seem so crazy and since I've crashed my computer before recovery is more than easy to do.
So my problem is that when I pop in the debian cd and go ahead it takes me to a log in screen which since it is freshly burned I dont have a password to. Now, since I cant access the grub os screen. Since when I tried this before with cinnamon it was an improper install I'm inclined to believe it is a problem with my burner. Please help!

Re: Cant log in for the live cd.
It's hard to understand what you mean.
Did you check the md5sum of the iso files before burning? What OS are you trying to install?

try to push CTRL + ALT + F7 to switch to the live desktop
I had the same problem yesterday version 2012/04, for some reason the installer launches a "secondary" session.
