Hello,
please help me. I want to install LMDE (xfce 64b) from DVD from command line. How can I do that? If I boot from DVD, I can choose from menu only option to boot desktop system. I want to install it in expert command line mode (I was able to do that with Ubuntu) - choose packages, disc encryption, etc.

Thank you!

Why Arch and not Ubuntu or Debian? They are more like Mint than Arch.

I want to use KDE desktop. I was using Kubuntu and it was so buggy for me. I was thinking about Debian (testing), but I heard they dont make any security update for testing version. So my final decision was for LMDE.
Do you know, if they are doing security update for LMDE?

Thanks to all of you

Debian testing has security: http://www.debian.org/security/faq#testing

LMDE is based on Debian testing and the UP are a stabilized snapshots. If you are not happy with Debian testing security then LMDE it's not better.

I thought the Ubuntu alternative installer was going away in a release or two.

At least the mini iso is expected to remain available.
