Are all of the bugs worked out???
I tried LMDE about a year ago and it was a disaster. I heard the Mint Debian guy is now with SolusOs, which is amazing! Is he still working with the Mint people> Will the new LMDE be as good as SolusOs?

To stay "it was a disaster" isn't specifying what issues you had, so we can't really answer whether those have been solved or not. What issues did you have?
The SolusOS developers are doing their own thing. The Linux Mint developers cooperate with developers from various other distros though, but that wasn't your question
