Like you said, it must be a built-in check of the BIOS. Does setting the boot-flag get rid of the message?

Yes. Dell BIOS seems to assume Windows OS which does need the boot flag. Adding the flag on the /boot partition with fdisk did fix this issue.

Btw the script always says "unmount: /target/data: not found" at the end.

The data partition is not listed in /etc/fstab after install. Together with the failing data unmount at the end I guess there is a problem with the script regarding data_label.
