I would like to install LMDE 201303 Cinnamon in a Parallels Desktop virtual machine. I installed it back in June successfully, except at that time I was using the onboard HD4000 which had insufficient graphics power to handle the display, so I deleted the VM. Today when I tried to install, the installation proceeded fine up until the restart. What happens at that point is that it freezes immediately: I see a message about the VM having a network boot rom installed and that it is trying to boot off the Primary Master IDE Drive.
I don't know if this is because UP6 repositories are no longer available. Can someone provide troubleshooting steps I can take on /target before rebooting, or what changes need to be made to do a clean install of UP7?
Additional info: I have successfully installed Wheezy, followed by dist-upgrade to Jessie, followed by installing Cinnamon & nemo from unstable. I have also installed Jessie directly followed by installing Cinnamon & nemo from unstable (did this first, then did the upgrade from Wheezy just to see if it would work). Neither of these help solve the original question.
