After upgrade to UP7 of my LMDE installation (running XFCE desktop), I have a nice looking GRUB menu, however I cannot select any line item that is listed.
Checking the installed version of GRUB I'm not sure if this is relevant for this issue:
- Code: Select all
user@pc-lmde:~$ dpkg --list | grep grub
ii grub-common 1.99-27+deb7u1 i386 GRand Unified Bootloader (common files)
ii grub-pc 1.99-27+deb7u1 i386 GRand Unified Bootloader, version 2 (PC/BIOS version)
ii grub-pc-bin 1.99-27+deb7u1 i386 GRand Unified Bootloader, version 2 (PC/BIOS binaries)
ii grub2-common 1.99-27+deb7u1 i386 GRand Unified Bootloader (common files for version 2)
ii grub2-theme-mint 1.0.9 all Grub2 theme for Linux Mint
Well, this LMDE installation is running on a Pentium 4 machine, and the (wireless) keyboard is connected via USB.
One may claim that with old machines only PS/2 keyboard connectors will work.
But this is not true, because I can access the BIOS menu with the USB keyboard without issues.
Any ideas how to fix this GRUB issue?
