Installation: "Localizing" stage takes ages

Postby mark_orion on Sat Dec 14, 2013 1:30 pm

I am currently installing LMDE 16 / 64bit and the installation creeps along at the installation of various language packs. It is currently sitting at "Localizing LibreOffice" for over half an hour and nothing happens aside from some download happening (blinking WiFi LED). I have installed LibreOffice debian packages manually many times and the language packs are only a few MB so this should be done within seconds. Internet has no problems here.
Is there a way to bypass the localization, do the system install at first and set the language later ?
thanks for any help, Mark
