Installation hangs on select hard drive screen

I'll be back in a moment hopefully with an output of live installer run in a terminal. That is if my machine doesn't lock up again. i installed gpart in an effort to help this problem.

i hve no idea whats wrong. it only cause a problem with linux mint debian or reg linux mint. other limux distros is no problem

I have the exact same problem and I would like to know how to fix it.I've been trying to install it for last 3 days (cinnamon/mate doesn't matter same hangs)and I'm loosing my mind.

i d/l an earlier version of lmde and upgraded the packages. since i have a 50 mbps connection, i dont mind the extra step of upgrading a years worth of updates...

I had that problem too and, after 4 days of "fighting with", I give up. It does have problems with raid drives. Too bad as I like the debian mint.

I had that problem and solved in radical way - reformated with MBR. I am not suggesting that this is the right way, as you will loose everything on hdd. If you have win7 or win 8 then you have GPT partition that Mint can not handle ( at this time). Just wait for improved version.
