Dualboot Linux Mint Debian and MacOS

Postby ptolemayos on Tue Apr 15, 2014 4:47 am

Hello everyone.
I have an issue, trying to get my Linx Mint Debian running. I want to install it alongside MacOS. Therefore i've created a partition table like this: /dev/sdb5 (/boot) /dev/sdb6 (/) /dev/sdb7 (/home) /dev/sdb8 (swap). When i am asked, where to install GRUB, in the next step (i think that differs from the ordinary Linux Mint installation), i choose /dev/sdb5 (my boot partition). The system is able to install with this settings.
However if i want to boot my Linx after the restart grub rescue promts with an error: "error: file `/boot/grub/x86_64-efi/normal.mod` not found." I tried to fix it by means of "set prefix=(hd1,gpt5)/boot/grub" but the error remains.

Do i have to install GRUB on the "/boot/efi" partition, when i asked during the installation? I wasn't sure about that because i don't want it to overwrite anything on this partition.
Sorry for this noobish question ...

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.
