Help to install

Firts, sorry for my bad english i´m from Brazil. So i want know if is possible install LMDE without format the partition. When i try to install i put the mountpoint "/" and the "format as" i don´t put anything but when i clik on the forward there is a message and i can´t install.

You have to format the '/'. It's where the files from your system will get installed to.
Thats why most people put /home in different partition.
If you are doing a fresh install there is no point in not formating since you want a new system.

But if i aready had a formated partition, is possible to install in that partition without format? That is want a need.

By formating do you mean erase the files of it?
When you are installing it, all your files in the / partition will be erased.
If you are worried about not formating, so it would go faster don't worry it doesn't take long at all.

No, i use the comand "mkjfs.jfs -s 200 /dev/sda4" I use this command because the JFS uses less CPU, I got this tip here (http://ubuntuforum-br.org/index.php/topic,74313.0.html) It also has to ext4 (http://ubuntuforum-br.org/index.php/topic,71611.0.html) but as my CPU is not very strong I chose JFS. So I wonder if there is any way to install LMDE without formatting the partition.
