Got Debian 64 installed

After using mint for a couple of years it was time to get a 64 bit PC. I went with the Levovo A700 ideacentre all in one PC. I has quad core, 4 gb ram and plenty to spare with Linux. When I got it I demoed the Windows 7 for about 5 minutes, that was all I could take. Then I put in the LMDE 64 dvd and got busy. Seems I accidentally installed on the Windows partition? Oh well, no great loss. Any ways this is an awsome OS, Windows 7 ran about as fast as mint did on my 5 year old PC.
I had some problems with the wireless but I figured that out, with a link I found here to the Debian wiki.
At this point I have two problems.
1 if I suspend I lose the Wi Fi, and have to do a reboot to get it back. Is there a work around for this on a Broadcam internal Wi Fi, or a command that will bring the Wi Fi back up?
2 I used the backup tool to move my old mint 10 files to my new LMDE home, and now they all have lock icons on them, I tried sudo chown 744 /home/bob now home is giving nautilus errors.
Well, any help appreciated.
