updating system has caused grub to not work (solved)

Postby eyeleica on Wed Apr 27, 2011 1:27 pm

I recently updated my system. This morning when I turned on the computer (the first time I've shut down the computer and restarted it) I received this message :
"error: symbol not found: 'grub_env_export'.
grub rescue>"

How do I go about rectifying this problem?

I did the same but as I had not booted my system for about a week, I have no idea which of the updates has caused this error :(

Reinstall Grub, try http://www.supergrubdisk.org/ download, burn to a CD and boot from it, follow the instructions.

Steve,
Thanks for the link. I burned Rescatux .26 and fixed grub. Kept my fingers crossed and rebooted the system. It worked!
Thank you, kindly.
