what is "Debian Installer"?

What is the purpose of Menu->SystemTools->DebianInstaller? I'll never use it if I don't know what it does. Can I remove it from the menu?

Menu=>System Tools=>Debian Installer is the program you used to install LMDE on your computer. Sometimes it gets left in place when the installation is finished. You can remove it from the Menu and/or delete it completely without any problems.
