Greetings! I'm runnning LMDE (64bit with update pack 3) on a Thinkpad
X201s and sometimes get a kernel freeze shortly after resuming from
hibernation.
I've included part of my syslog, the problem seems to occur at the
"divide error: 0000 [#1] SMP" line below. The resume eventually
finishes but I get a kernel freeze shortly afterwards.
Any ideas or help with this would be much appreciated.

A bit late, but this might help you. I just installed LM13 and I had the same problem using XFCE, Cinnamon, MATE etc. I increased my swap size and the problem went away. I made my swap 150% of my RAM. I also noted the same problem running LM12 from a flash drive...
Update.
Increasing the swap helped but it would still freeze intermittently. It appears that my MSI Wind U120 had a networking issue due to the R8187SE Wifi Card. I followed instructions found on the link below which appears to have fixed fixed the issue:

One tiny note for less sophisticated users (like me), gksudo works in MATE, but not Cinnamon.
