Evolution Mail - Trash / Junk Folder Not Working

Postby BadFinger on Sun Apr 29, 2012 3:43 pm

Running LMDE/Mate.
Since the new .iso just came out, I did a fresh install, and then imported my Evolution mail using the evolution import menu.
All goes ok, all mails get converted and are there in their respective folders.
But the Trash and Junk Folders are empty.
If you delete mail, it does not appear in trash folder.
If you mark an email as junk, Evolution immediately crashes.
Anyone else having the same issue?

For anyone else with this odd problem >>
I changed my font settings .. .. system/preferences/Appearance/fonts.
Then I opened evolution, went to edit/preferences/mail preferences, and checked the box 'use the same fonts as other applications'
Now the trash and junk folder have mail in them, as they should. Weird.
But marking any message as junk still causes evolution to crash, so it is still unable to mark junk emails as junk.

I've also realized I have the original problem on either an upgrade or a fresh install.

Did you have checked the configuration of your account? There is an option for each account, where to store "junk" and "drafts". Maybe the information inside this config is invalid and so evolution did crash at any action with these folders.

The config of junk/draft is at account-properties at the fifth tab and the option is called "special folders".

(Sorry, I have a native evolution language so I cannot tell you the english names to find the relevant items more exactly)

There is only configuration for the 'Sent' and 'Drafts' folders, regarding their location.
They are pointing to the correct location.
There isn't a setting for the 'Junk' folders location anywhere.

My fault. You are right. There is only config for sent and draft but not for junk.
