Font rendering for emacs and xterm

Postby mandar on Wed May 02, 2012 12:05 pm

Hi,

I've been trying out LMDE since 201204 was released. Things are great, except for one problem that is bothering me.

There's a small difference in the rendering of fonts for XFCE terminal and plain xterm / emacs. The XFCE terminal fonts look more solid, while the xterm fonts look a little thin. I took screenshots and magnified them and verified that there is indeed a small difference that makes a visual impact nevertheless.

I use Liberation Mono for both, and have the same settings in .Xresources and .fonts.conf.

Xft.antialias: true
Xft.hinting: true
Xft.hintstyle: hintslight
Xft.rgba: rgb

Can anyone please suggest what I should do to fix this problem? Thanks!
