Softmaker Ofc 2010 Font Rendering

Hello. I have been using an rpm distro and have just installed linux mint debian to give it a go. Love it so far except for this: I use Softmaker Office 2010 for linux and after installing it in LMDE, I was surprised to see the gui font rendering very scratchy. However, the fonts display well in whatever document one is creating. In the rpm distro, the gui and the document font rendering was beautiful, clean and clear. I have made sure that all the fonts I use are installed (in fact, I simply copied the fonts folder from the other distro and put it in /usr/share/fonts and did and updated the font cache. So, can anyone shed light on this? It's not a deal breaker for my using LMDE but it would be nice to have great font rendering in both the gui and documents. I have searched the Softmaker site as well as the net but can't find anything specific to this. So, I would appreciate any help.

thx in advance.

I use the same software, but I have no answer for you. Since the document fonts are fine, I've learned to ignore the rest. Sorry I can't help. It would be nice if the program showed properly, I agree.

thx Adelante,

I have done as you do - just ignore the gui display. Perhaps the answer is out there somewhere. If I should find it, I will post it here just for info. Oh, I also installed softmaker in vector linux and it displays correctly in that slackware based distro as well. (Just wished other things in vector worked well, I would certainly give it a go.)

Have a great day.
