Hindi (devanagari) characters not positioned correctly

Postby Ish on Sun May 06, 2012 5:26 am

Hello guys,

I am having an issue regarding devanagari characters position in LMDE 201204.
When I read news from "http://in.jagran.yahoo.com/" the characters are not positioned correctly. Thus, making reading difficult.
It's the same when I type Hindi in Vim.

I have "ttf-indic-fonts" installed.

I however don't have this issue in Linux Mint 12.

Can someone please advise?

Thank you.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I forgot to mention however, on Chromium I don't have the display problem. All characters are positioned correctly.

Well... I was able to figure it out.
In firefox settings, I changed the default font for Devanagari to 'Lohit Devanagari' and all characters are now well positioned.
