Chrome 18.0.1025.168.

New problem with latest version of Chrome on LMDE and Ubuntu 12.04 which means that often within minutes of opening Chrome it starts to 'stick' and then lock-up. Uses CPUs 100% and devours 244MB of RAM. Task Manager shows 3 processes as being responsible. Have reported this to Google over past few days but I still do not see an update fix.

I wasn't on feedproxy.google.com when the last Chrome lock-up happened. I was on duckduckgo.com but on looking in Task Manager I found that Chrome was linked to feedproxy.google.com and using the CPUs 100%.

Nasty programming behaviour by Google!?

20.0.1123.4 dev has a problem with playing Flash videos. 1080 is almost impossible to run and 720p stutter along. Works fine in version 19 beta but warning of old Flash version and works in Chromium 17.xxxx.dev.

If you have flashplugin-nonfree or flashplayer-mozilla installed, go into about:plugins and disable the built-in flash in Chrome.

Although from what I understand the 64bit versions doesn't have flash built in.

if the 64bit versions are broke you can always try using the 32bit versions.

install ia32-libs and ia32-libs-gtk, then download and install the 32bit version of Chrome or Chromium.

Thanks for info.
Chromium 17.xx..x.dev is working okay so I cannot be bothered with Chrome (though I am using it at the moment) I have many other more important things to do with my life.
Hopefully Google will go back to pre-problems code before releasing another version.

Chrome 18.0.1025.168 is now stable in Ubuntu 12.04 after latest Ubuntu updates.
Does take CPU to 100% running flash though.
All latest versions of Chrome from 18.0.1025.168 to 20,xxxx.dev are unstable in LMDE.

Google.com Whois

I tried setting Chromium as Default but it refuses and so Chrome kept popping-up.
I looked in Task Manager and saw a process linked to feedproxy.google.com and it was using 57% of the CPU.
I have seen this before but didn't check it out fully. This time I have and it's linked to markmonitor.com.
I thought to myself I know that name... ...it's the other half of Facebook.
But look at who is listed as the administrator... ...Google Inc!!!
