Configuring the login window

Postby rop75 on Wed May 09, 2012 5:20 pm

Hi

I have recently installed LMDE and I really like t, but I have a little problem I would like to fix: I don't like the default login window.

I really l used to like the Linux MInt 12 login screen, that is why i downloaded the lightDM package from the default repositories (latest) using synaptic, but the Debian version has nothing to do with the Mint 12 version.

I don't know if I need any other package and/or configure the greeter properly, so I would be grateful if you helped me to configure lightDM so that my login screen looks like it used to look in Linux MInt 12.

If that's not possible, I would like to know how configure mdm: I tried configure mdm to move the login box (where you enter your user and password) to the left edge , by using mdmsetup, but I have been unable to put the login box at the exact place where I want it to be (when I restart the system the login box has moved back to the original position)

Thank you.

PS: Sorry for my terrible English.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

LM 12 uses the unity greeter. LMDE only has the gtk greeter
