Automated backups in LMDE

Postby madwoollything on Sun May 20, 2012 3:42 am

Prior to update pack 3, I was using deja-dup which worked really well. Unfortunately update pack 4 removed deja-dup and I've not found a way of re-installing.

I'm looking for an alternative to deja-dup with similar functionality. I've tried luckybackup, but that does not keep previous versions of changed files (??). Mintbackup looks nice but I cannot find a way of automated scheduled backups requiring no intervention from the user (elderly relative/friend).

Any other suggestions as to which other debian packages I can try. A GUI backup application with scheduling would be nice.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I've been using http://www.nongnu.org/rdiff-backup/ for years. It offers mirroring and incremental backups. With a cron-job it is 100% automated.
