Upstart or Systemd, which is better?
And also: would they work on LMDE?

Upstart seems faster, But because it's a ubuntu project and won't work on all kernel(architectures) I don't think you can find it on debian.
Systemmd I think is already built into the default debian system
The "BFS' scheduler patch works on debian but I think needs to be compiled in kernel

Upstart works on AMD64 (thats Kernel/archeticure Ubuntu supports.
But
I never found a debiain package or tried compiling
Please let me know if found and installs. Exspecially let know if seem faster boot!

Maybe it could be used as default in LMDE, it is good enough.
