Brightness applet not working?

Postby desert69 on Sat Jun 16, 2012 9:36 pm

Hi there.

I'm using LMDE on a Banghó notebook, and I'm not able to set brightness level via Brightness applet. It shows, and tells me current brightness level, but when I try to click it, the slider disappears as if I click in any other window (loses focus and closes).

My brightness function keys don't work, either (but the others - volume, enable/disable webcam, etc - do). And I discovered I can set the brightness via Power Management Preferences' "Set display brightness to:" option.

Do you know why is the applet not working? Any idea about the keyboard function keys?

I thought maybe I work around this by setting a custom keyboard shortcut that runs some command to change brightness level, but I don't have any clue about a command like that.

Thanks for any help :)
