Software updates

Postby Inoki on Thu Jun 28, 2012 8:55 am

I'm new to Debian and would like to ask how often do applications in repos get updated for LMDE? I see other distros get the latest stuff very quick, but LMDE repos go with older versions of apps. Anybody?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

That option didn't entirely solve the problem. Something got updated, but not everything. My question here would be directed towards Mint Developers: would it be possible to update the repos more frequently?

What I've discovered is that the UPs are great for moving your entire system safely through testing. If I ever need specific updated packages I pull them from testing, unstable, or experimental using apt-pinning.
