Mozilla online movie and display put to sleep

Postby Fesiitis on Sat Jul 28, 2012 4:49 pm

Hello! I have one problem with Mozilla and display sleep time.
On LMDE settings is display put to sleep time when computer is inactive. That's ok, but, LMDE does not understand that, when I watch movies online on Mozilla Firefox, computer is not inactive. If I not moves the mouse, the screen goes off after a certain time.
Question - how to fix this issue?

Don't have mate installed anymore, but I think the process is called mate-screensaver, so try:
Code: Select all
sudo killall mate-screensaver

Then run mate-screensaver when finished to restart.

You can try caffiene, it's supposed to block xscreensaver from activating while this program is running....

OP: I just tried it. You need to download 2 packages to get it working: gir1.2-appindicator3-0.1 & gir1.2-notify-0.7. Program runs in background, and automatically stops xscreensaver if you're watching anything flash-based on the web.
