Chrome Version 21.0.1180.79 proxy & 'ConnectBackupJobs'

Task Manager is showing one process in Chrome..... 'ConnectBackupJobs .... Proxy.... ..' using CPUs at 50% almost constantly. If I pause this process I cannot then use the page I'm on. I can open a new tab and that will work as it opens a new process of ..... 'ConnectBackupJobs .... Proxy....' .. which will eventually start using CPUs at 50%. This is Ridiculous for a web browser!!!

Any ideas on a fix as Chromium on LMDE doesn't install and update properly on a manual install, and installed version is far too out of date!!! and no update offered in Updates, and I need to be able to translate from many languages daily?

There was a bug where ConnectBackupJobs would look up IPv6 first rather than IPv4, this was suppose to be fixed recently but your problem sounds similar to this bug.

Do you have IPv6 enable?

You can check by entering the following in the address bar

Mine is disabled and chrome is working fine.

You can also look in the proxy section to see if there are any that are failing
