All,
Learning how to network and make a server and such, I made a /home/public directory on my machine, set the PW and installed pure-ftpd to give access to it. It's a good thing that I only gave the PW to a friend of mine, because it turns out that when you install pure-ftpd, it both runs itself right then and adds itself to the startup 'services'! And it does so with out the '-A' or 'chrooteveryone' option enabled which gives anyone who knows the PW access to your entire filesystem !!! I was a bit suprized when my friend started downloading stuff from anywhere on my machine. Is it wise that this is the default behavior?
