Hello,
my LMDE ist running with UP8. This scenario doesn't occur with UP7!!
Case:
If Synaptic is advised to install PlayOnLinux or WineTricks (both I've tested with UP8... and UP7 earlier), there comes up the regular screen, where you can see, which packets need to be removed or to be installed. The "need to be installed"-entries are as expected, but surprisingly the "must be removed"-entries show ALL packages my LMDE is installed with (for example Synaptic, Alacarte, ClamTK, Gnome***, Mate***, GIMP and so on).
Fortunately I get a closer look before accepting the install process... so I'm still be able to post this.
Can someone confirm this behavior or tell me what went wrong?
Cu

Re: Dangerous Synaptic BUG
I can't confirm it. It only wants to install a heap of i386 packages which is normal (because of wine).
Something is wrong with your system. Try installing these packages with apt and post the output here:
And also post the output of:

Hello,
"Wine install" itself doesn't show this behavior!!
These are the results... but first, apt isn't recognized:

And please use the "code" tag for the results.
Re: Dangerous Synaptic BUG
try with 'apt-get -s install playonlinux' and 'apt-get -s install winetrick'. it might not a synaptic bug. synaptic as default want to try install recommended package. you might need to turn it off.

Re: Dangerous Synaptic BUG
OK,
I've installed WINE itself now via Synaptic... an retry PlayOnLinux install the same.
So, if WINE is installed first, the Installation of POL doesn't show up the dialog to erase my whole system.
btw: POL wasn't be able to install from the Software-Center... eventually because of this behavior shown in Synaptic.
P.S.
Sorry for the "not Code Feature" in my Post, but LMDE runs perfect all the time, so that I have no experience in Bug-Reports with Code included.
