Did anyone realize there's no Pop Up notification in Pidgin?? Also there were no sound to alert a new message.... This is a bug or what? >.<"

You can find it on the list of plugins after it is installed, be sure to check it there.

I Already installed it... >.<" So strange... also i try to reconfigure the plugin still no effect

Do you receive any other notify popups from any other software? Is this problem specific only for pidgin or is it broader? Do you have package notify-osd installed?

Perhaps related to this. I too am a regular Pidgin user. Incoming sounds work fine except for the original incoming message. This being the one I most want to have getting my attention.

I think this has to do with pulseaudio. The sound for incoming message is short and I've noticed pulseaudio tends to give low priority to short sounds. The way I see it, pulseaudio server tries to be "low-latency" and play your sound as early as it can but in the process of doing so it just plays last half of it, because it's already late because it itself adds more latency to the system. I no longer have sound related problems as I've moved my audio platform fully to good old ALSA. I'll leave pulseaudio to beta testing being done on massive scale with ubuntu community. Perhaps some day when the code is usable enough will it find it's way back to my userspace.

Well after struglling to make debian squeeze work out on the box i think finally figure out the problem. it's all about the library or that kind of things. Debian is quite different and maybe very different from ubuntu it's easy to customized if you want BUT... it's easy also to make you must reinstall again the OS gonna post after i install my LMDE in a hour. now testing Debian Squeeze

Oke i solved the problem.

Just go to Package Manager. Ah if you facing a problem with search feature in Synaptic Package Manager you can fix it by adding Debian Squeeze repository on you source.list just do an update

How to make notify working. There's something miss in installation i guess CMIIW.

The other things, if you facing a problem with your audio. Just add Debian Squeeze repo and do an update. Uninstall all pulseaudio things . On my experience, the sound is much better rather than pulse audio installed.

But honestly that LMDE is eat quite much RAM.. It's arround 550Mb with Gwibber + Banshee + Pidgin + 2Tab iceweasel hehehe... When use an original debian it's only arround 300MB i guess..
