Picasa, constant CHMOD problem [Solved]

Everytime I start Picasa, I get the message
/dev/nvidia0 or /dev/nvidiactl are not accessable. Picasa will crash
if these files are not accessable. To fix this, as root, please run:

chmod 666 /dev/nvidia0 /dev/nvidiactl
So I open a terminal, do a sudo chmod as requested, restart Picasa, and get no message and it runs just fine.

How can I get out of going through this chmod dance *every* time I start Picasa?

(Actually now that I think about it, it might just be once per-login session. But it's frequent and annoying.)

Hi Laura,

You must be in the video group to avoid this problem.

Perfect! Thank you!

I went to System > Admin > Users and Groups , Manage Groups, scrolled down to "video", properties, and clicked my name under "Group Members".

Started Picasa and got the message again, did the chmod.

Restarted.

Started Picasa and, no chmod request!!

:D

Thanks so much!

Whoopsie! Thanks Oskar. I'd been searching and searching for some board function.
