Firefox 4? [SOLVED]

Post by orrebo »

Is there anyway to get Firefox 4?
I now that there is a tar.bz2 package to download from mozilla.com but I want to install it so I get all updates.

You can do it via the iceweasel squeeze backport. Sorry I am posting from my Android phone and can't immediately provide further detail. Should be easy to find via google.

I found this: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=62057
That means that I got to go from unstable to experimental then?

Code: Select all

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ experimental main contrib non-free
deb-src http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ experimental main non-free contrib

*EDIT*

I tried to add deb http://mozilla.debian.net/ squeeze-backports iceweasel-4.0
But then I get:

Code: Select all

iceweasel:
Depends: xulrunner-2.0 but it is not going to be installed
But if I look here so is xulrunner a part of the backport: http://mozilla.debian.net/dists/squeeze ... ary-amd64/

*EDIT 2*

I solved it. I had a couple of ubuntu versions of some of the dependencies.
Thanks for the help :)
