Iceweasel very slow rendering

Hi, i've tried Iceweasel 4 and firefox 4 and the first is very slow as application and rendering, i don't know what is due, while firefox it's a bit better but i've a problem with menu context because when i close a choice menu the menu's shadow remains for a while, what is due this and iceweasel slowness?

Firefox version included in LMDE is optimized, because it comes from the mint repositories.
however, iceweasel installed from debian repositories.

I know but Iceweasel is very slow to respond to inputs

I found Firefox 4 very slow rendering also, on 64bit lmde. I didn't try iceweasel 4, and I didn't want to take the time to figure out why, as some were saying it (FF4) was so fast. I then just upgraded to Iceweasel 3.6 via adding mozilla.debian.net to my sources.list, since there were security updates that weren't showing up in the Mint updates for FF3.6.
