[SOLVED] Completely removing Firefox 3.6.8

Postby shahzeb.ihsan on Sun Jun 05, 2011 10:55 am

I've been trying to get Firefox 5b3 on my LMDE machine. I completely removed Firefox 3.6.8 using Synaptic, deleted the ".mozilla" folder in my home folder and any other mozilla folders I could find. Then I extracted Firefox 5b3 and launched it, it still shows version 3.6.8 and I haven't a clue whats going on here.

How is it possible that even after removing 3.6.8 and running a newer version, the firefox version is still 3.6.8.

Try running "aptitude purge ~nfirefox" or restarting your computer
