System info at top of desktop?

I was looking through screenshots of different desktop environments and came across this particular image: http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/489/ ... 110514.png. I was wondering how I could get the information bar that he has across the top of his desktop. (The one showing uptime, temperature, network statistics, etc.) I have been searching for an answer but I haven't been able to find anything. Does anyone know how I would get something like that? Is that an Xfce only thing, or it is a program that you run? If there is a way to do this on Gnome, how would I go about installing/setting it up? Thanks for your help!

Sorry if this is the wrong section, this seemed to be the sub-forum closest to my question.
