[Solved] A Problem with interface of some applications

Postby Regulus74 on Mon Oct 03, 2011 6:16 pm

In Gnome System Monitor, Terminal, Gcalctool and Keyring the interface is like in screens. The problem is in Live CD to. I use Shiki theme but in Mint - X it is similar.

I believe all these applications are gnome version 3.0.* and using gtk+3.

I think the theming issue is solved with Update Pack 3.

From the release notes of UP3
The Linux Mint theme is now compatible with GTK3 and the issue present in Update Pack 2 is solved.

I would be left to assume you are not using the default LMDE theme, or something went wrong.

The normal mint theme isnt that bad for gtk3 but are you guys aware that it doesnt look like the gtk2 theme? I personally think it doesnt look good.

(ok after 10 secondes, i know the answer, you sure know how it looks, sorry... next time i will think before posting)

@Regulus74: Default theme is Mint-X

Mint - X theme presents the issue to. It's less bad then Shiki but it's present...In Live CD 201109 and after I have installed UP3.

There will inherently be some visual difference between gtk2 and gtk3 app theming.

Maybe the difference in Mint - X is due to difference between gtk2 and gtk3 :?:

Yes, that's what I meant with my original responding post - the gnome3 apps use gtk+3 so they will look a little different.
